toffee the other day... close to the recipe linked, but drop the corn syrup, up the salt (i like a salty/sweet toffee), and toss some chocolate chips on top of the toffee when it's cooled some (but not so much that the chocolate won't melt; smear them around with a spatula as they melt).
i'd also cook to about 320 instead of 310, but that's a taste issue.
